Laterite Nickel Ore Prices by Region (2012-5-17)
LME nickel prices overnight opened at USD 17,000/mt, with the high end USD 17,230/mt, finding support at USD 16,770/mt.
LME tin prices overnight opened at USD 19,900/mt in electronic trading and ended down USD 250/mt to USD 19,700/mt.
LME lead prices opened lower at USD 2,007/mt overnight.
LME zinc prices overnight fluctuated between USD 1,900-1,930/mt during Asian trading hours.
As LME copper extended losing streak overnight, the most active SHFE 1208 copper contract opened RMB 130/mt down at RMB 55,530/mt Wednesday.
LME copper will fluctuate feebly between USD 7,620-7,750/mt during Thursday's Asian trading session, and SHFE 1208 copper contract should move in the RMB 54,500-55,500/mt range.
On Wednesday, mainstream traded prices of Jinchuan nickel were between RMB 126,500-126,700/mt in the morning session.
On Wednesday, SHFE three-month zinc contract prices opened higher at RMB 14,980/mt and touched an intraday high at RMB 15,065/mt in the morning session.
COMEX gold futures for delivery in June opened at USD 1,544/oz and closed at USD 1,540.4/oz on May 16, down USD 16.7/oz or 1.07% from the previous trading day.
SHFE 1208 copper contract opened RMB 130/mt down at RMB 55,530/mt Wednesday. Spot copper premiums were between positive RMB 80-140/mt in Shanghai in the morning business.
In Shanghai tin market, transactions were still quiet on Wednesday.
SHFE lead prices moved around at RMB 15,535/mt Wednesday after opening due to the increasing risk for Greece to exit the euro zone.
The most active SHFE aluminum contract for August delivery hit a high of RMB 16,020/mt in the morning but settled down RMB 70/mt or 0.44% at RMB 15,900/mt.
