Reasons to Attend
Background
The Chinese aluminum market still draws wide attention in 2012 following its volatile performance in 2011.
China’s aluminum output will break 20 million mt this year and is expected to reach 21.89 million mt. However, aluminum consumption may slowdown and whether it can maintain nearly 30% growth during the 11th Five-Year Plan period is in doubt.
As a widely used light metal, where will aluminum head in 2012? Will gradually loosening monetary policies support this year’s aluminum prices? Are there hidden worries for future bauxite supply as China’s self-sufficient rate drops year by year? How will rising aluminum capacities in West China affect domestic aluminum supply and demand? Where will Chinese aluminum businesses head with high production cost following two power rate hikes? Will China’s aluminum consumption pick up as the country stays hard on the real estate market while add energy to affordable housing construction?
The 2012 (7th) Shanghai Copper & Aluminum Summit – Aluminum Industry Chain Forum co-hosted by Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and SMM Information and Technology Co. Ltd. will be held on March 22nd -23rd 2012 in Shanghai. Over 600 industry elites from governments, associations, mines, smelters, processing, trade, logistics, banks, futures and consulting sectors will meet during the grand event. SMM hopes to use the top Chinese nonferrous metals industry business forum to gather participants’ views towards the present and future aluminum industry as well as their success experiences, thereby helping all participants advance.
